About the state models

State outlines follow 2025 U.S. Census boundaries. Relief uses USGS 3DEP elevation, sampled for a statewide overview. Elevation is exaggerated 18× to reveal mountain ranges at this scale; colors indicate elevation rather than land cover. These models are for discovery, not navigation.

A little perspective,
before you go.

Peakwayfinder helps you get to know a mountain before you arrive. Explore its shape, discover a trail, find a viewpoint and meet the wildlife that shares the landscape.

Our interactive landscapes combine measured elevation and aerial photography with curated trails, places and field guides. Browse Washington, Oregon and California, then follow your curiosity into the details.

Each mountain guide includes its geographic sources, photo credits and official visitor references, so you can turn a little inspiration into a well-informed day outside.

These are historical images, not live conditions. Snow cover, access and routes can change. Use official destination maps and current access information when planning your visit.
